Ah, is that ABC? I don’t watch it, so wasn’t sure. Seriously. Maybe I should do a big compilation of all the gay couples to ever appear on ABC, just so I can show it to the next hater who tries to say Once can’t have *gasp* gay, because ABC is owned by Disney.
I don’t want to incite any flaming here by sounding negative but I don’t think it’s so much about Disney or ABC than it is about the intended audience of the show.
Strictly looking at it from a completely critical POV as much as I want a gay couple on OUAT and certainly think we have some serious potential with Sleeping Warrior many of the shows on at the moment with same sex couples in are aimed at teenagers and above, they are all also shows with original characters, NOT characters based around beloved children’s fairytales.
Not taking into account the violence and often blatant abuse seen on this show (because I could be here for hours with that shit) this show does have a VERY young audience demographic; as shown by the 6 year old’s proposing to Josh Dallas in the street, and as bad as it sounds I still think that is a danger zone when it comes to shows of this type. Not that I believe it should be, I just don’t have that much faith in humanity as a whole.
